We launched the latest version of our Softswitch Software (4.2J13), including innovative features such as the "Active-Active" redundancy system, Multi-Switch Routing (LCR enable), and National SIP Interco capabilities (see below for more details).

Focus on a Feature: Interco IP
VoIP emerged in the early 2000s with the transport layer revolution evidenced by, for example, DSL (Broadband Local Loop). VoIP was successful because it helped reduce costs by using the huge bandwidth increases driven by Internet access, while opening numerous possibilities to provide more services to end users.
At the same time, deregulation attracted new players (operators and vendors) to the market, eager to take advantage of the tremendous bandwidth capabilities of optical fiber deployment. The result was that new competitive operators (cLECs) made use of VoIP interconnections to handle traffic at lower cost.

The latest version (V4.2J13) of the Software is now available.
Take advantage of many innovative functions -- new services such as the National SIP interco or the Closed User Group (CUG), new architecture solutions such as Active – Active systems, "1+1" redundancy and Multi Switch Routing (MSR) to enable Least Cost Routing capabilities.
Benefit from improvements such as PBX trunking enhancement, to handle calls for a subscriber located behind a multi-sited PBX connected with one CPE.

Success highlight: Wilhelm.tel
Technicolor has been selected, together with its integration partner 3M Services GmbH, by Germany’s Wilhelm.tel for its Cirpack SoftSwitch and SBC (Session Border Controller) solution.
3M Services GmbH, a subsidiary of the 3M Group, is represented in more than 70 countries, including EMEA, where it is a premium partner for Technicolor’s Cirpack Voice Switching Solutions.
Wilhelm.tel has been providing voice over IP services to its subscribers since 2006, with a network supporting some 100,000 subscribers in the Hamburg area, including the city of Norderstedt. To continue to meet its residential and business subscribers’ needs and improve operational efficiency, Wilhelm.tel decided to replace its existing switches in order to interface to IP customer premises equipment with existing TDM telephone technology as well as VoIP trunking.
